The Ministry of Transport has taken note of a letter currently circulating among shipping agents and other stakeholders, allegedly issued by the Ministry of Finance, bearing the headline:

Re-enhancing Shipping Data Collection and Management in Ghana through Smart Port and Electronic Cargo Tracking.

The circulated letter claims that, effective 15th September 2023, all shipments to Ghana, including transit shipments, are required to obtain an Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN/SPN) and submit the same to Antaser Afrique BUBA for verification.

The Ministry wishes to clarify that such correspondence did not originate from its official channels, and stakeholders are advised to verify the authenticity of all compliance communications before taking any action.
