Equatorial Guinea is a Central African country comprising the Rio Muni mainland and 5 volcanic offshore islands.

Capital Malabo, on Bioko Island, has Spanish colonial architecture and is a hub for the country’s prosperous oil industry.

Equatorial Guinea implemented a new regulation in 2000 that made all shipments to Guinea obliged to be accompanied by an ECTN certificate.

If this certificate is absent, there will be severe consequences and an enormous penalty. It is not mandatory for transit cargo.

What is Equatorial Guinea ECTN?

ECTN means Electronic Cargo Tracking Note, and as you might guess by the name, it is used by authorities to track, manage, and supervise all shipments from loading to discharge.

It also provides them the necessary information about the shipments before they arrive at the destination.

It contains information about the exporter, the importer, information about the goods getting transported and their value, the cost of the freight, the type of shipment, the name of the vessel, etc.
